Martin left England in 1987 and travelled around the world for a decade before migrating to Australia. He has worked for Lonely Planet since 1999, including seven years as Editorial Manager. An accident in 2010 left him a quadriplegic, since when he has published several accessible travel titles, including the world’s largest collection of accessible travel online resources. He has become a regular speaker at international conferences, including the global accessible travel summit, “Destinations for All” (Montréal, 2014), the UNWTO World Tourism Day event, “Tourism for All: Promoting Universal Accessibility” (Bangkok, 2016) and the "Barrier-Free Day at the ITB" (Berlin, 2017). |
